At first I wanted to make a small collection of objects around the theme: Summertime, but then realised I didn’t really have that many objects around the house relating to that theme. My fiancé loves to build airplane models as a new found hobby, so he has a lot of tools that I could use for the theme: Workshop.
PHOTOGRAPHS OF TOOLS:
I took photographs of the different tools from different angles and arranged them in different positions.
SELECTIONS OF PHOTOGRAPHS:
I chose the following photographs to focus on in order to create simple drawings.
ORIGINAL DRAWINGS:
I then made rough drawings on paper using pen.
EDITED USING PROCREATE:
I decided to edit the drawings digitally using Procreate.
While I was editing the drawings in Procreate, I had another idea to arrange the tools in order to create the word, ‘workshop’… so I re- arranged the tools again and photographed it. Then I drew it in the new arrangement.
ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH AND DRAWING:
EDITED USING PROCREATE:
I edited digitally using Procreate to manipulate some of the letters.
IMAGE DEVELOPMENT:
I thought it would be fun trying out different colour combinations.
ANIMATION DEVELOPMENT:
I decided to turn it into a simple animation.
SIMPLE ANIMATION:
WITH WORKSHOP NOISES:
WITH MUSIC: work from home – by Fifth Harmony
FAVOURITE IMAGE:
The green background with black and white text, was my favourite combination.

REFLECTION:
At the start of this exercise, I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it, as I am not good at drawing things as they really are. But in the end, I kind of liked the rough drawings and thought they came out quite well. I do think that changing viewpoints made me think differently about my choice of objects and how I was arranging them. I think it was an interesting way to develop ideas further. It had a completely different outcome than I initially thought it would have.
