EXERCISE 5.2 MAKING CONNECTIONS

REFLECTION:

After reflecting on my reactions to the coursework so far, I have now looked back at all of my previous illustrations and tried to make connections between some of them.

I didn’t necessarily combine my favourite work so far, but rather looked at which illustrations could possibly be combined/ incorporated together successfully.

Instead of printing them off, I decided to combine/edit them digitally using Procreate. Therefore, by not using the printer to print off numerous copies and saving on ink and paper. (I am currently on lockdown due to the Corona virus and unable to go to the shop when I run out of ink & paper. Therefore, being more selective about what I decide to print.)

I had another look at the SCAMPER section in Part 3 of this course. I decided not to ‘re-draw’ my previous illustrations in Procreate, but rather to just ‘cut’ them and re-arrange them together, using the method of ‘collage’ with different ‘layers’. I substituted some aspects of the drawings for another. I combined different illustrations from my sketchbooks; added other photographs/ images to create new illustrations.

I COMBINED THE FOLLOWING IMAGES/ ILLUSTRATIONS & THEN ADDED POSSIBLE TEXT:

PART 1 – SKETCHBOOK CIRCLE PROMPT – DREAMS

PART 2 – RESEARCH TASK 2.3 – INSPIRED BY VINCENT BAL
