We had our wedding planned for July 2020. Unfortunately due to the ‘Corona virus’ pandemic, we had to postpone the wedding. These are our wedding invitations which I designed in Procreate and sent out digitally earlier this year.
PROCESS:
The design was inspired by the illustration I created in response to the sketchbook circle prompt: ‘flowers’. The sketchbook circle illustration was inspired by some of the photographs I took of flowers from my Mum’s garden. I re-used the greenery which I created for the story, ‘Super Sally & Dolly Dragon’ in Part.4 of this course. I manipulated the greenery background to create little leaves of different shapes. I added graph paper as the background. The quote was added using the Adobe Spark Post App.
I liked the flowers-design so much, that I decided to adapt the design in a different shape for our invitations.

REFLECTION:
I like the way my sketchbook circle illustration inspired me to manipulate it to create a design for our wedding invitations. I love the combination of the colours of the flowers with the green leaves. I think the design is simple, yet fresh. I am happy with the outcome & might use the same illustrations for the rest of the wedding stationary.
