I decided to take part in ‘Inktober’ on Instagram instead of a sketchbook circle. I enjoyed the daily prompts and tried to keep up with it. Unfortunately, I only made it up to day 24. I went on holiday to Scotland for a week and had a lot to do the week before going. Therefore I did not complete the prompts up to day 31. I guess I could try again next year 🙂
I decided to keep it simple, using white card and black micron/ Faber Castell artist pens. I added the prompt words using glitter wooden letters, when taking photographs of my doodles/ illustrations.
I tried to use the same little character throughout my ‘Inktober’ doodles, just changing the rest of the illustrations according to the different prompts. My character does vary between having wings and not having wings, mostly because I forgot to add the wings in most of the illustrations.
I enjoyed the challenge and it helped to generate some new ideas that I could possibly use for other illustrations in the future. I found it interesting looking at the different ways other people responded to the same prompts.
At times, I found it hard to keep up with completing doodles in response to the prompts every day. Luckily when fallen behind, I managed to catch up over the following weekends.
