20 Creative Drawings Completed Using Everyday Objects By Christoph Niemann
Saul Steinberg:
I noticed the following about the work of Steinberg & Niemann:
It looks like Steinberg often uses limited lines and leaves spaces open to be filled in by the viewers’ imagination. I see the use of simplicity in both artists’ work.
Steinberg often incorporated colourful objects into his black & white illustrations, for example: stamps; postcards; envelopes & flowers.
He also used collage as technique to combine his pen drawings with pictures of objects. I find that his work conveys a lot of meaning to the viewer, compared to Niemann’s work which is less meaningful.
Niemann uses the physical properties of objects and combines them with his drawings to complete his illustrations. Both artists’ work creates a surreal and fun effect.
