EXERCISE 1.3: HOW PERSONAL DO YOU WANT YOUR SKETCHBOOK TO BE? TO HIDE, OR NOT TO HIDE?

HIDING THE 4 MINI BOOKS FROM EXERCISE 1.2:

I decided to use 3 of the mini books as part of an illustration of owl characters reading mini books. The content of these little books are hidden.

I decided to use book 4 as “pockets” instead of mini books. I used it as part of an illustration of a train with different circus animals sitting inside the pockets. Text or drawings can be hidden inside the pockets.

These ideas could be adjusted to different themed illustrations or sketchbook entries.

HOW PERSONAL IS YOUR SKETCHBOOK?

My sketchbooks are very personal. It is where I express all my thoughts, ideas and feelings creatively.

DO YOU INCLUDE PERSONAL THOUGHTS OR IMAGERY?

I use pictures of myself and other people in my life in my sketchbook collages. My personal thoughts, personality and sense of humour is displayed in some of my work.

DO YOU HIDE BITS IN YOUR SKETCHBOOK? IF SO, HOW?

Although so far I have not really been hiding bits in my sketchbooks, I think I might in the future, using different ideas explored.
