EXERCISE 1.0: WHAT SORT OF SKETCHBOOK SHOULD I USE?

MAKING A FOLDY:MAKING A SMALL BOOKLET:I am currently using 4 different sketchbooks:

STRATHMORE MIXED MEDIA SKETCHBOOK:

I started with a spiral bound book with thicker paper so that I can use mixed media in it, including wet media. I’ve decided to use it for mark making, as well as glueing and sticking a variety of different types of paper and printed photographs as chosen according to each idea. I’ve decided to add rough planning sheets to show my thinking process in clear pockets, as I prefer working on loose sheets of paper.

MOLESKINE A4 SKETCHBOOK:

I am using an A4 Moleskine sketchbook for my artists’ sketchbooks – research inspired experiments.

MOLESKINE A4 SKETCHBOOK:

I also started using another Moleskine sketchbook for ‘the everyday’ prompts list doodles. I am keeping the rough planning in the front and the completed illustrations at the back of the sketchbook.

CRESCENT MULTIMEDIA SKETCHBOOK:

I am using an A4 sized sketchbook for completed illustrations and collages, adding the rough planning sheets in clear pockets as reference.

* I prefer using pen/ markers on promarker bleedproof marker-paper, so I have been adding them to the sketchbooks using clear pockets.
